Enable back-office users to view the financial details of a plant, including installation cost, operating cost, depreciation details, current book value, maintenance allocated budget, and insurance cost. The feature provides a clear and organized presentation of the financial information in a read-only format for better decision-making and management.

As a back-office user
I want to view the finance details of a plant in a structured format,
so that I can assess the financial aspects of the plant efficiently without making edits.

 

STORYTELLING
Maria, a back-office user at Samoa Water Authority, needs to review the financial details of a specific plant to prepare for an upcoming audit. Using the SMART360 platform, she navigates to the Finance tab under the plant's profile. Here, she views information such as installation costs, depreciation percentage, and the current book value of the plant. The well-structured format allows her to gather the required data quickly without needing additional reports or edits.

 

GOALS

  • Present a read-only view of financial details for back-office users.

  • Ensure all financial fields are accurate and clearly displayed.

 

PROCESS FLOW DIAGRAM

 

MAJOR STEPS INVOLVED

  1. Back-office user logs into SMART360.

  2. Navigates to the Asset Module > Asset > Plant.

  3. Clicks on the Eye icon for a specific plant to view its details.

  4. Clicks on the Profile Tab.

  5. Navigates to the Finance sub-menu.

  6. Views the finance details in a structured, read-only format.

 

BUSINESS RULES

  • Only authorized users can access the Finance sub-menu.

  • The finance fields should be non-editable.

  • All data displayed in the Finance sub-menu must be consistent with data entered during the asset addition or modification process.

  • Error messages for data retrieval issues:

    • "Unable to load finance details. Please try again later."

    • "No financial data available for this unit." if no data exists.

  • The following fields must be visible in the Finance section:

    1. Installation Cost (Text field)

    2. Operating Cost (Text field)

    3. Depreciation Method (Dropdown; options: Linear, Stepdown)

    4. Depreciation Percentage (Text field)

    5. Current Book Value (Text field)

    6. Maintenance Allocated Budget (Text field)

    7. Insurance Cost (Text field)

  • A "Back" button must be available to navigate back to the Unit’s Profile view.

  • Display NA for all unavailable fields.

  • Currency is fetched from onboarding.

 

SAMPLE DATA

  • Installation Cost: $10,000

  • Operating Cost: $1,500

  • Depreciation Method: Linear

  • Depreciation Percentage: 10%

  • Current Book Value: $7,000

  • Maintenance Allocated Budget: $2,000

  • Insurance Cost: $500

 

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

  1. All finance fields are visible and accurate in the Finance sub-menu.

  2. The view is strictly read-only, with no editing capabilities.

  3. Proper error handling occurs if finance details fail to load.

  4. The "Back" button works as expected, returning the user to the Profile tab.

  5. The format is consistent with other sub-menus within the Profile tab.
